Fabric Development Specialist

Are you passionate about developing high-performance fabrics that make a real difference for professionals around the world?
Would you like to join a Danish, family-owned growth company with a global outlook and strong ambitions?

Help shape the fabrics behind the world’s best workwear

At MASCOT, fabrics are at the heart of our products. As our new Fabric Development Specialist, you will play a key role in developing new fabrics, improving existing ones and ensuring that quality, innovation and cost-efficiency go hand in hand.

You will join our Sourcing & Quality Department at our head office in Pårup, Denmark, where you will work closely with colleagues across sourcing, quality, design, special orders, logistics, corporate responsibility and our factories in Vietnam and Laos. The role also involves close cooperation with fabric suppliers around the world, particularly in Asia, and includes regular international travel.

What we offer

This is an opportunity to take on a specialist role with high impact. You will be involved from early development and supplier dialogue to testing, documentation, implementation and continuous improvement.

You will become part of an international company where quality, innovation and collaboration are key drivers. At MASCOT, you will work with dedicated colleagues who share the ambition of developing products that meet the highest standards for professional users.

For the right candidate, this is a role where your technical fabric knowledge, supplier understanding and commercial mindset can directly influence the products we bring to market.

What you’ll do

As Fabric Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing new fabrics and improving existing fabrics in close collaboration with our suppliers.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new fabrics together with international suppliers.
  • Defining specifications and requirements for new fabrics.
  • Communicating development needs, improvement opportunities and quality issues to suppliers.
  • Negotiating prices, lead times and technical specifications.
  • Suggesting improvements to existing fabrics, both in terms of quality and cost.
  • Ordering and following up on test and sample deliveries.
  • Selecting and implementing new and alternative fabrics.
  • Assessing and selecting fabric suppliers.
  • Supporting special order projects and new fabric developments.
  • Visiting and inspecting existing and potential fabric suppliers.
  • Participating in textile and fabric fairs.
  • Ensuring that suppliers provide the necessary technical documentation.

You will also be involved in fabric analysis, product data entry and advising suppliers on quality-related questions.

Who you are

You bring solid textile expertise and understand the complexity of fabric development from both a technical and supplier perspective.

We imagine that you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the textile or fabric industry, for example from a dye house, fabric mill or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of performance fabrics and/or workwear fabrics.
  • Understanding of dyeing, finishing, coating and textile testing processes.
  • Experience with fabric sourcing and supplier management.
  • The ability to negotiate and communicate technical requirements clearly.
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken, at a technical and negotiation level.

You may already be based in Denmark, or you may be an international profile looking for an opportunity to use your textile expertise in a global role within a Danish company.

What drives you

You are detail-oriented and quality-conscious, but also curious and innovative. You enjoy finding solutions, improving products and working closely with suppliers to turn ideas into reliable, high-quality fabrics.

You are self-motivated, structured and able to manage several projects and deadlines at the same time. You thrive in cross-functional collaboration and know how to build strong working relationships across cultures, functions and geographies.

You are also comfortable taking responsibility and being assertive when needed, especially when it comes to ensuring that suppliers deliver what has been agreed.
